What is Lesion Excision?
Lesion excision is a procedure in which a selected skin or soft-tissue lesion is removed. The removed tissue may be sent to a laboratory for pathological examination, if needed.
What Types of Lesions Does Dr. Khansa Remove?

Has changed in size, shape, color, or texture

Mole (nevus)
A mole, also known as a birthmark, is due to proliferation of the pigment cells in the skin (melanocytes). Dr. Khansa usually sends moles to pathology after excision to make sure they do not contain abnormal cells that may be suggestive of melanoma.
Scar
A scar may be due to an injury or a previous surgery. Scars cannot be erased completely. However, in some cases, Dr. Khansa can perform scar revisions to improve the appearance of scars.
